Update on Dear Husband

John is stuck in a hotel in Denver. He is luckier than some; those stuck in the airport or bus terminals or heaven forbid, on the road. His flight out yesterday was cancelled, as are all fights out today. Those lucky souls at the airport should be home Saturday or Sunday. John (and our family) have been given a wonderful Christmas gift in the form of a company jet. If John and his two coworkers can make it to Colorado Springs, the jet can land and pick them up. The snafu is that the interstate between Denver and Colorado Springs is closed and may stay that way for the rest of the day. John may not get home till tommorrow but that still beats the folks at the airport. There is no food at the inn where he is staying, so he and co-worker were venturing out a few blocks to the 7-11, the only store open in the area. Bless the hearts of those 7-11 folks. John and Company were able to rent a four wheel drive Hummer at the airport, before the crowds realized they needed to get out of the airport, so at least they are in a sturdy vehicle that can maneuver in the snow. They left the airport at 2pm yesterday and all roads out of the airport were closed at 2:45. Good timing.
